Heads of Departments are requested to bring to the notice of their subordinates the following amend- ments of and additions to the General Orders which are incorporated in the 1906 Edition of the Civil Service List,

1. No. 13(2) The words from "and he may" in the third line to the end

of the subsection are omitted.

13(7) The last two paragraphs are altered to "a bonus of $600

is given for each additional dialect in which a Passed Cadet satisfies the Board of Examiners. A Passed Cadet may not take the written language a second time for a bonus".

13(9) Second Examination 2 (b) "Tsuk Wa King T'am first 21

double pages (new edition)".

13(10) Harris' Principles of Criminal Law has been substituted

for Archbold's Criminal Law.

13(12) Class III-"Assistant Secretary Sanitary Board" is omit- ted and "Two Assistant Superintendents of Police" "Two Assistant Land Officers for New Territory" are inserted. 15(1) "Clerkships in the Hongkong Civil Servico are divided into (a) Grades, (b) Classes, carrying the salaries specified below, and all recommendations for appointments must specify the grade or class within which the post falls or if it is outside the Grading or Classification scheme call special attention to the fact. No recommendations can be considered which do not conform to these scales unless the post is comprehended in the Sterling Salaries Scheme or the Interpretation Scheme."
